24th January 2006 : Tesco to Launch Net Call Service

TESCO VOIP Tesco, the leading UK Supermarket chain has launched Tesco Telecoms, to enter the UK VOIP market. "Consumers have not yet caught on to internet calling but this is now set to change," Said Tesco Telecoms Andy Dewhurst, "What they have been looking for is a service that is simple, easy to use, convenient and great value."

This is good news for UK VOIP users and should help bring more consumer choice to a country that lags behind the US in this area. Tesco Telecoms has teamed up with experienced Australian internet phone company Freshtel, to launch the service.
